FAQ for PrivacyScanner

Q: The app keeps crashing while scanning. What can I do?
A: Please decrease the size of files in megabyte to scan. To do this, go to Settings->Scanner->Decrease the number under 'Include malware/viruses (beta)'. In case the change of file size does not help please try to deactivate the virus scan. Then the scan for spy apps is still working and the app will not crash. (The virus scan is still in an early stage.)

Q: Why does not the app save my settings?
A: Due to a bug in earlier versions you could not save settings after updating the app and you had not saved settings before. Unfortunately, the app needs to be reinstalled. Thus, uninstall and then install it again.


Q: The app crashes after I updated it. What's wrong?
A: In earlier versions there was a bug. Please reinstall the app. After that, it will work again :). Please accept our apologies.

Q: In case the background scan found something and I click on the notification bar icon, sometimes the scan starts again, why is that?
A: This is because after some undefined time the Android system (not us) automatically removes data, in this case the scan result, from the memory. Thus the result is unavailable and the scan starts again. We hope to find a workaround for you soon.
